Clay Bird Sports operates 12 months a year, with temporary closures only for unsafe weather conditions. Below is our guide for how we handle different types of Oklahoma weather.
Rain
• We stay open on most rain days.
• If the whole day looks like steady rain, it’s best to call before driving out.
• If it begins raining while you’re shooting, you may continue unless severe weather develops.
Lightning
• If lightning is present in the area, we pull shooters off the course.
• Shooting resumes as soon as the storm passes and conditions are safe.
Snow & Ice
• We close for snow or ice due to safety concerns for walking, carts, and course access.
• Always check Facebook or call before coming out during winter storms.
High Winds
• We stay open during high winds.
• Wind is simply part of sporting clays in Oklahoma!
High Heat
• We remain open in hot weather.
• Stay hydrated, take breaks, and shoot smart.
Extreme Cold & Wind Chills
• We may still be open, but conditions can vary.
• If wind chills are extreme, please call first before heading out.
